Kim Jang-hoon Donates to Patriotic Causes

Pop singer Kim Jang-hoon said he will make an additional donation of W100 million (US$1=W1,133) each to Yuji Hosaka, a Japanese professor at Sejong University, and a group of self-appointed Korean "cyber diplomats".

The Japanese academic is studying the Dokdo Islets, and the Voluntary Agency Network Korea is a group who seek to rectify what they see as inaccurate information about Korea overseas.

Kim already donated W100 million each in November last year. He is going to deliver donations to Hosaka and VANK head Park Ki-tae at a gallery in the National Assembly Library on Tuesday. An exhibition of old maps on the East Sea and Dokdo is being held at the gallery.

On display at the exhibition hosted by the Northeast Asian History Foundation are various materials, including four Dokdo-related old maps that Hosaka bought in Japan with the W100 million Kim had donated to him.
