"I want to get rid of the misunderstanding, I'm not admitting to fault".

Kim Mu-yeol requests official apology for defamation.

"I am blameless but I don't like being talked about. I'll join the army in a few days".

Actor Kim Mu-yeol who was in the center of an issue claiming that he was exempted from National Service, has decided to serve his duty in a few days.

He spoke through his agency, "I am not admitting to the things I haven't done. I just want to get rid of the misunderstandings. I haven't done anything embarrassing or lied in the process of getting exempted".

His agency said, "He wants to go quietly" and didn't mention any date or times.

In addition to denying the speculations about his exemption from National Service, Kim Mu-yeol's agency claimed, "He hasn't done anything wrong but he's been defamed and been through much mental and material loss. We plan on proceeding with the right measures to deal with this matter in the process of retrial as well" and asked for an official apology from the Military Manpower Association.

An MMA spokesperson stated, "We announced his date of admission according to procedure. Administrative lawsuits or objection is something for the agency to decide. We haven't had anything official so far. If they object, an internal investigation will take place".

Kim Mu-yeol was exempted from military service in 2010 for the reason of 'difficulty in maintaining living'. The MMA had a reinvestigation about the suitability of Kim Mu-yeol's exemption for a month. The result showed he didn't evade it but his earnings were more than the average and didn't count as 'difficulty in maintaining living'.
