Actress Kim So-hyun has come a long way since her days as a child star -- but is still striving to improve.
She starred in the period drama "Ruler: Master of the Mask", which wrapped up last month, and she confessed it was not always easy despite her long acting career. "Every scene was difficult, but I thought of it overall as a learning experience to get better and further develop my acting skills", she said.
Kim started acting from the early age of six or seven. "I became very curious about acting during my childhood, enrolled in an acting course and got a chance to appear as an extra", she recalled.
She was so devoted to the career path that she opted out of regular high school for homeschooling, a decision she does not regret.
"I look at my friends struggling in school with the gap between dream and reality", she explained. "I think even if I went to high school, I wouldn't have been able to attend very much due to frequent acting. I would make the same decision over again".
But now as Kim soon turns 20, she is planning to study acting at university.
"I don't think being 20 will dramatically alter my life, but I want to experience as many things as possible", she said. "Most of all, I would like to improve my acting and do the things that make me feel happy".
