KOFIC announces recipients of Art Film Support

The Korean Film Council has announced the recipients of the 2006 Production Support for Art Films fund. Applications were submitted for 32 live-action feature films and 2 animated feature films, and separate juries selected 4 live-action features and 1 animated feature to receive 400 million won ($430,000) each to help cover production costs.

The selected films are:

"Never Forever" (Now Films), dir. Gina Kim
"Hello, Stranger" (Kim Dong-hyun Films), dir. Kim Dong-hyun-VI
"Desert Dream" (G21M), dir. Zhang Lu
"Goenchanha... ajik-eun goenchanha" (Dreamcoms), dir. Jo Chang-ho

"Bari" (Mago21), dir. Seong Baek-yeob (animation)

The jury that selected the feature films was made up of seven film professionals including writer/director Kim Dae-woo, producer Oh Ki-min, producer Kim Mi-hee, director Park Heung-sik, director Moon Seung-wook, screenwriter Kim Hee-jae, and critic KIM Young-jin. The jury that selected the animated feature was made up of five people including screenwriter Kim Eun-chae, CEO Oh Seong-yoon, producer LEE Byeong-gyoo, producer LEE Gyeong-hak, and professor LEE Yong-bae.
