Korea's original characters such as 'Pucca', 'Mashimaro', and 'Dooly the Baby Dinosaur', are expected to stand beside famous characters in the world's largest licensing show held in the U.S.

Korea Creative Content Agency (President & CEO: Lee Jae-woong) operates Korean Pavilion at "Licensing International 2009", the largest licensing event dedicated to characters. It is held at Mandalay Bay Convention Center June 2-4 2009.
In its 29th year, 'Licensing International 2009' deals with licensing business, which includes character licensing, in the area of content such as industrial arts & design and animation. The event is booming with licensing developers and buyers, allowing information sharing through seminars and exhibitions.
The host city of this year has changed to Las Vegas from New York of last year. This time the show will be attended by 600 exhibitors which represent properties from 82 countries and feature 7000 characters and brands. Mickey Mouse, Barbie, SpongeBob SquarePants and other famous characters are among those which will be displayed. Especially, characters of 'Transformer 2' which is released this summer are expected to join them, drawing attention from visitors.
Accordingly, KOCCA operates the Pavilion which includes 25 booths displaying 23 characters and licensing businesses under the slogan of 'Creative Korea' which the agency will hang in the event hall. Since 2001 when 11 relevant Korean companies participated in the show the number of Korean exhibitors has increased every year to reach its highest level this year.
Exhibitors such as CLKO, producer of 'Mashimaro', Doolynara of 'Dooly the Baby Dinosaur', and Character Plan of 'Ava Riko Teo' will actively be engaged in activities to promote original Korean content by displaying characters and animations and screening promotional videos.
"Despite economic hardships, the largest number of Korean exhibitors participates in the show, which is quite encouraging", said President Lee of KOCCA. "We at KOCCA will strive to provide Korean exhibitors with assistance to promote Korean characters and increase the number of contracts established, considering that buyers around the world converge at the show".
