Fairfax County announced a public screening of the Korean animated children's film "Mary's Story" ("My Beautiful Girl, Mari") at the conference room of the George Mason Regional Library.

"Mary's Story" ("My Beautiful Girl, Mari"), will be shown at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 4th in connection with the celebration of Children's Day in Korea.

Set in a remote beach village community on an isolated beach, a 12-year-old actor and his friend Joon-ho express their love and adoration for a mysterious stranger, the young maiden Mary found inside a glass bead.

George Mason Library's own Suh-sah Kim remarks, "This first screening of a Korean film in an American public library is the result of an increased interest in Korean film among Americans, and I hope that this will be an opportunity for parents and their children to enjoy a movie together".

Subtitles will be provided for children who don't know Korean, and popcorn and other light snacks will also be available.

The screening is sponsored by the Public Affairs Office, of the Korean Embassy. Admission is free, but advance reservations are required.
