The Korean movie "A Moment to Remember", starring Jung Woo-sung and Sohn Ye-jin dominated the Japanese box office this past weekend, finishing number one ahead of Hollywood blockbusters which include Tim Burton's "Corpse Bride" and "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory".
The Korean film grossed an estimated 230 million yen or about two million U.S. dollars over the weekend, since it hit 300 movie theaters throughout Japan last Saturday.
This marks the second time a Korean film topped the Japanese box office after "Shiri" screened in Japan five years ago.
The movie, "A Moment to Remember", is a love story about a young couple with a tragic struggle as the female character suffers memory loss after contracting Alzheimer's disease.
