The untimely loss of DramaFever has been substantially felt by fans on the other side of the pond, and its absence has hit the availability of OCN dramas significantly. Since his 2003 debut in "Old Boy", the most famous South Korean film of all time, the path of actor Yoo Yeon-seok has been a fascinating one. I'm very honoured to present my exclusive interview with Yoo Yeon-seok, his first to a US publication. We spoke days before the confirmation of his newest role in the upcoming TV drama, "Dr. Romantic" (About which I did ask, but was not allowed by his agency to receive an answer due to the upcoming announcement.).

Recently, American internet TV provider Hulu added the Korean drama "The Greatest Love" to their collection of offerings. They even have the official subtitles provided by MBC. Normally, this would be cause for great celebration. But sadly, this is not the case.
I've long wondered when the use of texting shorthand, chat room slang, MS Word spell-checking, and Ebonics would so infect entertainment production as to render TV unwatchable. The beginning of that time, it seems, is now. Having enjoyed the high quality of subtitles for the series both here on Viki and on DramaFever, I had high expectations for MBC's "offical" subs for "The Greatest Love"...More

NEW YORK — Korean fans hooked on American dramas, or "mideu" as they call it, know that it's only routine to stay up all night with bloodshot eyes and at least half a dozen episodes queued up on the playlist.
Well, guess what? The love is becoming reciprocal as Korean dramas, too, are slowly starting to find their way into the hearts of American viewers.
"NCIS and CSI are good, but this is action drama at a whole new level. It's one of those shows where you promise yourself 'just one more episode' and you end up watching the sun come up", says Rick Stone, 32, referring to the KBS hit "IRIS"
A newcomer to the world of Korean drama, Stone admits the newfound hobby is beginning to take its toll on his work during the day.
On Hulu.com, an online portal that streams TV shows and movies, it's easy to find people with the same addiction.
"The first Korean drama I watched was 'Coffee Prince

Raissa Villasin, a Filipino woman living Norwalk, Calif., is a long-time fan of Korean dramas, having stumbled on one while channel surfing in 2002.
She got hooked, watching Korean dramas on local channels LA 18 or KXLA 44, and on online streaming sites where she enjoyed dramas such as "Wedding"
and "You're Beautiful"
"What I like about Korean dramas is the story. Even if I watch it without subtitles, I can still pretty much follow the storyline. The language may be different but the themes are similar and universal. ... It gives me a glimpse into another culture and how similar and different it is from my own", Villasin said.
Her favorite Web site is www.DramaFever.com
, which offers a way to watch Korean dramas that is both legal and for free for residents in the U.S. and Canada.
Unlike most Web sites that illegally stream Korean dramas, DramaFever has acquired licenses from major Korean broadcasters to air the dramas online for the U.S. and Canada market. It is the first streaming site in North America to do this legally.
After creating an account, users can access DramaFever's extensive library of Korean dramas which include old favorites such as "Sandglass
