Hallyu star Lee Joon-gi (30) was discharged from the army amidst hearty cheers from around 1,000 fans on February 16, and he held a fan meeting in the afternoon. He said, "I spent an invaluable time for the past two years in the army".

He reported his discharge from the military at around 8:30 in the morning in front of his fans who were waiting for him before the front gate of the Ministry of National Defense in Yongsan. I could think about many things and values that I had missed and almost forgotten in my life before I joined the army. I will keep this attitude that I obtained from life in the army and continue to work as an actor more diligently".

Many of Lee Joon-gi's fans came to the place and waited for him even in the severe cold. Some of them came from Hong Kong and China. Fans were holding placards saying, "We will stay by his side as we always do during the second phase of actor Lee Joon-gi", and, "The era of Lee Joon-gi has just begun". Lee Joon-gi cut the cake that his fans prepared to celebrate his discharge from the army before he left the place. Lee held a fan meeting entitled "Reunion JG" at Sangmyung Art Hall in Sangmyung University at 3 pm on the same day.

Lee Joon-gi became a star actor with his appearance in the movie "The King and the Clown" in 2005 and he appeared in many dramas such as "Iljimae", "The Time is Between the Dog and Wolf - Drama", and "My Girl" since then. He will soon make a comeback to TV dramas.
