LPG Cars Now Available to Everyone

Everyone will be allowed to drive an LPG car in Korea, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy said Monday.

Until now, only a limited number of people were allowed to drive LPG cars, including taxi drivers and the disabled, to give them the advantage of the low fuel prices.

But the ministry eased the restrictions after a Cabinet meeting last week where officials discussed ways to tackle air pollution.

People will also be able to convert their diesel or gasoline-powered vehicles to run on LPG. The amount of nitrogen oxide emitted by gasoline cars is three times that of LPG vehicles.
