Market release of comic book, toys coincides with "G-Squad" broadcast

G-Squad, an animation selected as a 2006 Star Project by the Korea Culture and Content Agency (KOCCA, CEP: Suh, Byung-Moon), will celebrate its first broadcasting on SBS on Dec. 4 with the simultaneous release of various related products such as a comic book and stuffed dolls.

PMG Holdings, Inc. (CEO: Kim, Hyun-Cheol), a licensing agency of G-Squad, announced on Nov. 29 that it would showcase various goods related to the animation in partnership with Samsung Publishing Co. for the production of a comic book and with Dreamtopia for the production of stuffed dolls.

In particular, the comic book will be released coinciding with the animation's premiere, while the stuffed dolls will come out in the market in time for the Christmas season. "Besides, we are currently preparing character books, puzzle books, and a mobile cartoon service", said Kim, Hyun-Cheol, CEO of PMG Holdings.

Produced by Enemes (CEO: Choi, Jin), G-Squad is a 3D adventure animation based on the reinterpretation of existing comic books on 'magic girls'. After its terrestrial broadcast, it will also be on Korean cable channels such as Champ or JEI Educational Multicasting System in March and April next year and also in Canada and North America via Nelvada Studio in Canada. PMG is currently in talks with Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan and Japan on the animation's export.

"G-Squad's charm is its fresh and new 3D feel, added with the warmth of 2D and the various exciting props that have unlimited possibilities for development as various kinds of merchandise", said Kim. "We expect that this animation will pave the way for the development of new products".
