MBC TV's 'Damo' to make inroads into Uzbekistan

Following SBS drama 'Allin', which was telecasted in four countries such as Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, and Moldova last year, MBC TV's 'Damo' is to be telecasted via Uzbekistan private broadcasting.

'Damo' telecast in Uzbekistan is expected to be of help for broadcasting culture exchange activation between our country and this region and Korea product's export augmentation, not to mention understanding increase about our culture in Russia CIS region.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade said that the Ministry supported the drama's dubbing on the spot in Uzbekistan by means of copyright agreement with MBC after the Ministry selected 'Damo' which introduces Korean traditional military arts with the graceful natural scenery for background in consideration of Russia CIS region's sentiment.

Uz-NTT, Uzbekistan's Private Broadcasting Union, is to telecast the drama from May 10 through June 8, and another privite broadcasting station Markaz also is to telecast its from May 16 through June 14 three times a week.

MBC said 'Damo' has been selected as target dramas for the Hanryu untapped region's telecast projects by MOFAT (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade) recently.

Prior to this, MBC drama 'Damo' also has been selected as 'The 9th Asia Television Awards' supervised by 'Television Asia' on Dec. 2 last year in Singapore.
