"Memories of Murder" to be ranked 30th in The Village Voice's "Best Film"

The film "Memories of Murder" directed by Bong Joon-ho was ranked 30th in "Best Film", which was conducted by the U.S. leading weekly culture magazine "The Village Voice".

The magazine did "The 7th Annual Film Critics Poll 2005" and a Korean film "Memories of Murder" starring Kim Sang-kyung and Song Kang-ho took the 30th best film in the result of Take 7, which is the best record among Korean movies. The film was screened in July in the U.S.

Following Bong's film, three Korean films such as "Old boy" directed Park Chan-wook (35th rank), "3-Iron" directed by Kim Ki-duk (56th) and "Sympathy For Lady Vengeance" directed by Park Chan-wook (60th) were listed in Best Film.

The first best film is director David Cronenberg's "A History of Violence" and the second is director Wong Kar-wai's "2046".

In "Best Performance" section, actor Choi Min-sik of "Old boy" was ranked the 40th and Kim Sang-kyung and Song Kang-ho of "Memories of Murder" took 67th rank together. Actor Heath Ledger featured in "Brokeback Mountain" was ranked first, which was nominated in 7 sectors at next Golden Globe Awards.
