The company recently signed a contract with a U.S. department store to ship about 130,000 refrigerators from next year to 2022. Under the deal, which is worth an estimated US$200 million, five types of refrigerators will be supplied for sale under the store's own brand.

Dayou Winia is the third company to make inroads into the U.S. premium refrigerator market, after Samsung and LG.

Known for the manufacturer of kimchi refrigerator Dimchae, it sells mostly large refrigerators in the domestic market. The U.S. deal was made through the global retail network of Daewoo Electronics, which it took over in April.
