More Australian schools take up Korean language course

More schools in Australia are teaching Korean as a foreign language subject.
The Korean Cultural Center in Australia said that this year 48 schools from elementary to high school are teaching Korean . up from 38 schools in 2008.
Meanwhile the number of students learning Korean more than doubled from 2-thousand to over 51-hundred.
This increase is believed to be due to expanding trade between Korea and Australia.
Since 2009, education authorities in Sydney have been promoting the teaching of four Asian languages, including Korean, Chinese, Japanese and Indonesian.
The Korean Cultural Center says it is holding Korean language workshops jointly with the Education Ministry of New South Wales to help boost the popularity of Korean.
