Naver Started Operation of Filtering System of Music Source Copyright

In order to protect music source copyright, Naver, a portal site proving search engine, got cooperated with Mureka, a specialized monitoring enterprise. They will introduce 'Filtering System of Music Source Copyright'.

The system is a technique that recognizing violation of copyright regulations by matching with DNA of original music source in copyright DB by extracting some parts of music source which is included in UGC. So if there is a violation of copyright regulation, the attached files in the posting would not be opened to the public to restrict downloading. By protecting such illegal sharing through UGC postings in advance, distribution of illegal music source will be minimized.

At the same time, Naver will start a copyright protection campaign (http://green.naver.com) as well as interruption of service for blogs which violates copyright regulations like 'Posting the Addresses of Music File'

In-Hyeok Choi, the manager of NHN Portal Service Management Center, expected, "Ninety per cent of illegal music sources will be restricted in advance".
