2005/06/29 | 483 views | Permalink | Source

A North Korean feature film will be screened at the outdoor plaza in front of City Hall in downtown Seoul on Friday. It will be the first time for a film from the North to screen outdoors here.

The 2002 film, "The Blood Stained Route Map (Pimudnun Ryakpae)", will screen as part of a series of screenings leading up to the Daejong Film Festival, one of the nation's top film awards ceremonies, on July 8.

Along with the outdoor screening of the North Korean movie, works nominated for awards at the festival will screen for free at Myungbo Theater in downtown Seoul from today through July 7.

"The Blood Stained Route Map" tells the story of a family from the Koryo period (918-1392) who fight together to protect the Dokdo islets against the invasion of Japan. It made its domestic premiere at the Jeonju International Film Festival, held April 28-May 6.
