Yi Seung-woo made a statement through his management company, This Is Group on the 6th. He started by saying that he wished to fix whatever news that has been distorted on the way.

"We have mutually agreed to divorce terms and we are no longer married by law. We didn't get along like the news said. As a business man I wanted her to stay focused as a housewife and mother but for Heo Yi-jae, she was still young and had to give everything up because of me".

"We don't think staying together is the best for our children. Having them watch us fight all the time isn't good for their growth, but having them watch us live our lives to the fullest is the better choice. Making sure they know we love them so much is what we agreed on".

He added, "Just because we're divorced it doesn't mean my children are getting a new mother. They're my children as well as they're hers. I am going to work hard to make sure the relationship between the children and their mother doesn't tremble. I sincerely wish she becomes a great actress, and if there's anything I can do to help her with the children, I will".

The following is the official statement:

"I wish to explain speculations and rumors regarding our divorce. 1 year out of the 5 we've been married, we stayed separated and thought a lot about this".

I don't want to see this situation with a negative aspect".
