[Orion's Daily Ramblings] Chae Shi-ra and Jo Bo-ah Challenge Stereotypes in "The Goodbye Has Left"

"The Goodbye Has Left" seems determined to pull at our heartstrings and take its themes all the way, and I love it. Dramaland is giving us some great women's stories lately, and the production of "The Goodbye Has Left" delivers a hefty promise along with these new stills of Chae Shi-ra and Jo Bo-ah.

The scene is reportedly an extension of the character descriptions as we've known them. We have a mother who has given up on life, and a mother-to-be who is just starting her own. These images are so very powerful, because they perfectly capture the need of the latter for guidance and support, as well as the reluctance of the former to open herself up to someone again.

The production side has commented "We're going to show you the story of two women who truly care about each other, breaking the stereotypical mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relationship that other dramas usually portray. The story which will unfold will be a warm, healing one that those who are already mothers, and those who will become mothers can sympathize with".

According to the news, Chae Shi-ra and Jo Bo-ah read and discussed the scripts for this scene together, getting a good grasp of their characters. If the chemistry between the actresses is as good as it looks, and the production sticks to its vision, I'm on board the in-law ship of "The Goodbye Has Left" like nobody's business.
