My eyes and senses are very pleased with these stills of Jung Kyung-ho in his retro outfit for "Life on Mars". The series about a modern detective being slingshot to 1988 doesn't shy away from baggy clothes and big hair, making me happy with every bit of the era it embraces.
Prickly heroes are back in, and Jung Kyung-ho's Han Tae-joo is every bit of one. The man values evidence more than people, and does not tolerate mistakes. For all his charm, he's a cynical man. When he finds himself in 1988 without knowing if it's a dream, reality or something else entirely, he's going to be in for some major adapting to a bygone era with bygone rules.
The stills themselves are very stylish, and they invite me to look around and spot all the retro elements in them. As a premise, the series carries a lovely combination of nostalgia, mystery and the supernatural, hitting that sweet spot in my heart with genres and elements that I love. Will you be joining this remade adventure? If you are, "Life on Mars" will greet us all in June, on OCN.
