[Orion's Daily Ramblings] Lee Yi-kyung Leads "Children of Nobody" Alongside Kim Sun-ah

In a definitely surprising casting twist, Lee Yi-kyung, everyone's recent comedic sidekick darling, has been cast as the male lead in upcoming drama "Children of Nobody", the story of a woman searching for the truth after her life falls apart. He will be joining Kim Sun-ah in this work by the writer of "The Village: Achiara's Secret".

Lee Yi-kyung plays violent crimes detective Kang Ji-heon. While he may seem nonchalant and unhinged, he carries a heavy backstory. Can you hear the angst bells ringing? Ji-heon may seem rough around the edges, but he holds the firm belief that sins should be judged by the law. He will be reportedly be displaying nuanced emotions due to his scars from the past.

My only contact, that I remember, with Lee Yi-kyung's acting has been through "Investigation Partners", where I found his character and portrayal ranging from lacking to grating. However, my experience with him is so limited, and what I hear of his versatility so good, that it gives me hope. This role is clearly not a gag one.

Even if he struggles during his first lead, writer Do Hyeon-jeong has shown promise in handling such cases. I remember the worry over Yook Sung-jae being the male lead in "The Village: Achiara's Secret", but his goofy character was essentially a supporting non-protagonist. "Children of Nobody" will follow "Terius Behind Me" on MBC, so let's see where it leads us.
