In another case of "Mystery Queen Season 2" mirroring the promotional material of "Mystery Queen", the series has released a short and a long version of its most eccentric teaser yet. Those who watched the VLIVE video I shared last week will recognize the scenery, as this is the piece that was being filmed at the time.
The teaser explains Choi Kang-hee's red cheeks, which she playfully had to explain to VLIVE chat users. In a hilarious case of things being as they seem, it turns out that Seol-ok is the drunk one, and she intends to have fun with it. Our mystery queen puts on some music and turns up the volume, before inviting her five fellow leads to a group dance.
I love how the potential relationships show through this. In particular, I like how the rivalry between Inspector Woo (Park Byung-eun) and Wan-seung (Kwon Sang-woo) carries over, with Seol-ok being the object of investigative affection. I wonder if her official position will mean that both men will want to work with her for that extra genius edge.
In case it wasn't already obvious by this point in the video, the scene is a symbolism for an investigation, which is more directly revealed when the location turns into a crime scene at the end. I love the concept of Seol-ok being cheerfully tipsy throughout this piece, because detective work is truly where she shines and where she enjoys herself.
The production crew has commented that, if season one was about a mystery duo, this is about a mystery ensemble. We can meet the main members of said ensemble in the show's latest group poster as well. As usual, the design is lovely, the cast is lovely, and I need this in my life right now.
