Award shows are plentiful as we inch closer to the new year, but the Dramaland news machine always finds a way to chug along. This week I have a surprisingly diverse group of goodies for "The Crowned Clown", along with exciting stuff coming in 2019, and beyond!
The Confused Clown
Promotional tone being all over the place is now commonplace in Dramaland, but it always feels awkward to see big, popular projects going for it. Upcoming definitely-not-sunshine-and-rainbows drama "The Crowned Clown" has released dramatic posters and a thrilling, dark trailer, but we also have some tongue-in-cheek, very light and entertaining teasers. It does feel odd and immersion breaking to go for out-of-place humor, but I guess viewers will enjoy enough suffering in the series to need this little break from it while we still have time.
Upcoming Drama Goodies
We have a flood of script reading news this week, with "Touch Your Heart" showing off its "Goblin" duo, "Possessed" finally revealing Yeon Jung-hoon, and "The Light in Your Eyes" out to dazzle us. "Romance is a Bonus Book" has its first stills, and "Liver or Die" has its first teaser, while "Neighborhood Lawyer Jo Deul-ho 2: Crime and Punishment" has its second one, and Netflix's "Kingdom" has more goodies. Netflix has also announced "School Nurse Ahn Eun-young", while jTBC is remaking US series "Younger". In casting news, "Beautiful World" has its leads, and L is up for "Angel's Last Mission: Love".
In retrospect, setting off to get drama progress done during the pre-holiday week was a fool's errand, so I'm behind on everything. May the Dramagods show our holiday schedules some mercy. I wish you happy upcoming holidays, and see you right before we hit the big 1-9!
