[Orion's Drama News] The Burdens of Power

From kings to guardians, today is all about the struggles of work in an official capacity, though through slightly different lenses. "Grand Prince" starring Yoon Si-yoon, Jin Se-yeon and Joo Sang-wook has revealed its first videos and photos, while in modern times we have goodies from Noh Hee-kyeong's latest, slice-of-police-life drama "Live". As usual, more drama news follows.

Historical Murders and Horsies

Sageuk without fantasy, crime, mystery or other fusion elements is untrodden territory for me, and so are TV Chosun dramas. I was not sure what to expect of a series like "Grand Prince", but the drama has released its first two teasers, so you can get a better idea. It looks like standard historical fare, so far, with understandably lower production value than we would get from channels with a bigger drama focus. The series has also released script reading photos, so let us see if the popular cast will boost this production up.

The Reality of Police Work

I took a look at the first stills and teaser from upcoming police drama "Live" this week, so if you have not checked it out, you can do so now. I would not be surprised if many still do not know about it. This is a Noh Hee-kyeong work with a cast slightly outside the blinding lights of stardom, or at least the kind of stardom that often gets promoted to international fans. The drama looks very interesting, so I hopeI can fit it into my schedule.

Upcoming Drama Goodies

This week we have new stills from the main cast of "Shall We Kiss First", while "Queen of Mystery 2" has released a new couple poster as well as a third teaser. "Children of a Lesser God" has shown off its leads, and we have the first stills of Woo Do-hwan and Joy out of "The Great Seducer". Kim Kang-woo and UEE also get their photographic introductions for "My Husband Oh Jak-doo". "Miracle That We Met" has cast Jun Suk-ho as a veteran detective, Yoon Seok-hwa as the hero's mother, and more. In drama announcement news, PD Kim Seong-goo of "Save Me" is preparing a medical-exorcism drama called "Priest" for OCN.

Followed Dramas

The saucy premiere of "Misty" will have to wait until this week, but today is "A Korean Odyssey" day and this makes me a happy camper. For all the flaws it has, it is a relaxing watch. It balances "Mother - Drama" out quite well, because the latter is great, but a tough watch. Which drama/s get/s your feelings in a knot lately?
