PiFan 2005 aims to be the audience-centered film festival

PiFan 2005(The 9th Puchon Internatiaonal Fantastic Film Festival) is held over 10 days on July 14-23 with two opening films of 'NOCHNOI DOZOR' directed by Timur Bekmambetov as well as 'Battle in Heaven' directed by Carlos Reygadas.

As this Film Festival's closing film, 'The Wild Mill Palm Forest' directed by You Sang-Wook and 'Open Water' directed by Chris KENTIS have been selected.

With a character of non-competition international film festival which introduced partial competition, this Film Festival aims to be the audience-centered film festival, and an interesting film festival with themes such as love, phantasie and adventure.

A total of 172 films from 32 countries were invited including 89 full-length films as well as 83 short films.

Besides, PiFan 2005 prepared World Fantastic Cinema, Family section, 1.5 generation special screening, erotica special screening, Egypt tale and so forth.

The 8th PiFan 2004's opening film as well as closing film were 'King of the Ants' directed by Stuart Gordon and 'Bunshinsaba' directed by Ahn Byeong-ki respectively.
