PIFF Names New Programmer Cho Young-Jung

14th Pusan Int'l Film Festival to Run Oct. 8-16, 2009
PIFF (Pusan International Film Festival) newly appointed its programmers for programming and restructured management for Asian Film Market.
14th Pusan International Film Festival appointed new programmer. CHO Young Jung who used to be in charge of programming world cinema last year will be selecting Asian films for the programming. Also JEON Chan Il, a film critic is appointed to be a programmer of world cinema focusing on the section, Flash Forward.
The change is to strengthen programming for films from Asian region with the executive programmer KIM Ji Seok who has been a programmer for Asian cinema over last 13 years. JEON Chan Il is appointed as a new programmer to invigorate the programming for films from the rest of the world. As JEON joins the festival, the programming for the world cinema is expected to be more stabilized.
As for other programmers, Lee Sangyoung for Korean cinema, HONG Hyosook for Wide Angle section (Korean Independent film, Short films, Documentaries), Rhee Soue Won for French and Italian cinema and PAK Dosin for Midnight Passion section will remain the same.
Marking fourth year since its inception in 2006, Asian Film Market restructured its management. 'BOM Film Productions Co.,LTD'.s CEO, CHO Gwang-hee will be joining Asian Film Market as a Deputy Director, and NAM Dongchul, a former chief editor of will take care of the market's operations as a general manager from this year.
Asian Film Market Director is LEE Yong-kwan who is also a PIFF co-Festival Director will remain in office.
This year's Asian Film Market will take place from Oct 11th (Sun) to Oct 14th (Wed).
