Poster of 'April Snow' in Japanese version is introduced

2005/08/25 | 163 views | Permalink | Source

It maybe makes people wonder why the Japanese version poster of 'April Snow' (directed by Heo Jin-ho, produced by Blue Storm) turns out to be different from the one at home, while the film's love scene of Bae Yong-joon and Son Yae-jin is drawing attention.

The poster opened in Korea shows that Bae and Son are posing for a love scene in a bed.

On the contrary, the Japanese version depicts the two sitting somewhat apart in a bench.

This aims to both female fans in 20's and 30's who tend to prefer melodrama and those in 40's and 50's who love Bae Yong-joon, as Showeast, the distributor of 'April Snow' explained.

More than anything, it is analyzed that the distributor is trying to avoid directly opening the love scene considering female fans of Bae Yong-joon.

The poster in Korea focuses on passionate love, while that in Japan emphasis on lyricism. Not only in Japan, the posters of 'April Snow' are planned to be revealed as a different version by country in Asia.

In the meantime, it was at first announced on the Japanese official website that 'April Snow' will be open simultaneously in Asia on September 8 however, the premier was later changed to be on September 17 at the same time nationwide.

The reason of 10-day delay was that there is a concern if the film wouldn't be watched due to a general election for the Senate in Japan on September 11.
