Rain to Perform on Same Stage with Mariah Carey

Top artist Rain will perform on the same stage with such big stars as Mariah Carey, Ashanti and Japanese idol Amuro Namie at the MTV Video Music Awards Japan 2005 (VMAJ 2005) slated for May 28 in the Tokyo Bay NK Hall.

Rain and some Japanese artists were the only Asian artists to be invited to perform at the VMAJ 2005. Rain will perform alongside top-rated stars including Ashanti, Hoobastank, Amuro Namie, Orange Range, Mariah Carey, Jamiroquai, Hirai Ken and Crystal Kay. Rain will show off his impressive dancing skills in front of famous artists and high-profile award winners and special guests from all over the world.

Award winners and special guests will include the rising Japanese star AI, the next-generation enka singer Hiroshi, Chemistry member Kaname Kawabate, Linkin Park member Joe Hahn, Zeebra, Sold Out, and popular Singaporean singer Stephanie.

Rain gained previous experience performing on the same stage with the world's biggest stars in February at the MTV Asia Aid, where he performed with Kelly Clarkson, Simple Plan, Good Charlotte, Amuro Namie, Jay Chou (Taiwan) and Tata Young (Thailand).

Rain is poised to leap forward as a globally-renowned star. With the help of his mentor, J.Y. Park, he will soon record a new album with the hip-hop queen Lil' Kim.
