The performance attracted some 25,000 fans to the Saitama Super Arena. It was part of a cross-country tour that began in November in Misato. Ryoo has performed in Yokohama, Niigata, Osaka, Sendai, Nagoya and Fukuoka, and will continue with more shows in the neighboring Asian country in the new year.

The Saitama show marked the culmination of a singing career that began in 2004. Since then he has released 22 recordings and began live concert tours in 2005. By 2010 he had given 84 shows that entertained over 500,000 fans.

The Korean wave or "hallyu" star is mostly known in Korea as a television personality, though he has released several popular ballads. "I wanted to be acknowledged as a singer. I wasn't able to achieve that dream at home (in Korea) but it came true in Japan", Ryoo said.

He sang some 30 songs, including the premiere of "Uri manan geu jarie" (The Place Where We Met), a song he wrote the lyrics for in memory of the late singer-actor Park Yong-ha. During the five-hour event he also appeared in the outfit he wore during his first concert at Nippon Budokan, Tokyo, in 2005. To mark the holiday season a group of 100 children were invited onstage to decorate a Christmas tree.
