Seoul Botanic Park Offers Summer-Night Tour

The park's 7,555 sq.m greenhouse houses over 48,900 plants. Only 500 people per day will have a chance to experience it at night, and the tickets sold out in just four minutes after online bookings began on July 24.

The journey begins as visitors step into the hot and humid greenhouse, where the changing colors of the ceiling lights grab their attention instantly. The ceiling is covered with 183 hexagons that are inspired by plant cells and change through rainbow colors in 20-second cycles.

"We had such a great reception this year that we decided to make it an annual event", said a spokesman for the park.

Since October, the park has attracted over 3.3 million visitors. While the greenhouse harbors exotic plants, the 80,000 sq.m. outdoor themed gardens are home to 582,000 indigenous trees, shrubs and flowers.

It also offers various daytime programs for visitors of all ages during the summer such as film screenings and craft sessions. For more information, visit botanic park.seoul.go.kr.
