SHINee, First Korean Male Group To Go Gold In Japan

Popular idol group SHINee has created musical history in Japan!

SHINee recently went gold with their debut single in the Japanese market, marking them as the first Korean male group to reach this feat.

The youngsters sold over 100,000 copies of their debut single, "Replay-Kimiwa Bokuno Everything", which was released June 22nd. This is enough to put the disc in the gold album category. Being that no other Korean male group was able to sell so many copies of their debut track, it's a sure-tell sign of SHINee's popularity in Japan.

In just the first week alone, the group sold 91,000 of "Replay-Kimiwa Bokuno Everything". The song also climbed to second place on the Oricon Weekly Singles chart.

And in a move that will surely please their international fans based in the neighboring country, SHINee will be starting their "SHINee Japan Debut Premium Reception Tour late July. Starting off in Fukuoka on July 22nd, the group will hit Kobe on the 23rd, Tokyo from the 27-28, Sapporo on August 8th, and finish off in Nagoya on the 11th.
