Seoul showcases its many attractions as a business and entertainment capital starting this week with the "Seoul Sizzling Sweepstakes", a special promotion designed to give international visitors a taste of what makes the Korean capital a great city for both business and fun. Throughout August, the Seoul Convention Bureau's official website, www.miceseoul.com, will display a special feature on a different tourist attraction each day and run special giveaways relating to that attraction to increase awareness and interest.

The online promotion will reward visitors to the SCB's website and social networking sites with a chance to win free prizes from over twenty participating Seoul MICE Alliance partners and city attractions. Prizes include a free night at the Grand Hilton Seoul, yacht cruiser rides at the Seoul Marina & Yacht Club, tickets to the world-renowned non-verbal performance Nanta, and admission to the world's largest indoor amusement park, Lotte World.

Each week of August, a new themed week will be unveiled to event participants, which have been divided into the categories of Dramatic Seoul (shows), MICE Seoul (MICE venues), Exciting Seoul (attractions), and Delicious Seoul (restaurants). Participating businesses include 63 City, Coex, Persona (organizers of popular new production Bibap), Craftworks Taphouse, School Food, the National Museum of Korea and many others. Many of the venues were chosen for their accessibility to international visitors and their appeal as an after-business attraction.

Along with publicizing popular attractions throughout the city, the promotion looks to increase awareness of the bureau's Twitter and Facebook profiles. The two recently re-launched sites feature growing networks of domestic and international MICE industry professionals, and both regularly update followers with news about Seoul and its meetings industry.

Details and simple rules regarding participation can be found on the SCB's website (www.miceseoul.com), Twitter (www.twitter.com/miceseoul), and Facebook (www.facebook.com/miceseoul).

The Seoul Tourism Organization (STO) is a joint venture launched by the city and private enterprise in February 2008 with a core mission to promote Seoul as a convention and tourism destination. The Seoul Convention Bureau, a division of the STO, is the official government-sponsored body representing and promoting the city overseas as a prime venue for meetings, conventions and exhibitions. The SCB is in charge of international marketing and public relations for Seoul as a convention city.
