On the ninth episode of the MBC drama "Empress ki", Ki Seung-nyang (Ha Ji-won) gave up killing Ta-hwan (Ji Chang-wook) according to Park's (Han Hye-rin) advice.

Ki Seung-nyang tried to kill Ta-hwan who was sleeping in the palace but was caught by Park. She dragged her out and said, "I heard about you. You saved his Majesty from death dressed like a man? I don't care about your story but if you kill him then all the Koryeo people will die too".

Park said, "I also want to kill several people but that's not what real revenge is about. We have to survive and stand on the tops of their heads. That's real revenge. I will let you slip just this once. I will tell on you next time".

Ki Seung-nyang cried, torn between avenging her parents and the lives of the Koreyo people. Wang Yoo (Joo Jin-mo) appeared then and advised that it was her job to protect the people. Ki Seung-nyang gave up trying to kill Ta-hwan and fell ill as she had lost her purpose.

Ta-hwan tried to show off his archery skills to Seung-nyang, who was sick but she fainted in front of him.
