Lee Jong-hyuk made a surprise appearance in "Descendants of the Sun".

He appeared on the second episode in Yoo Si-jin's (Song Joong-ki) recollection.

Yoo Si-jin told Kang Mo-yeon (Song Hye-kyo), "I have lost 3 friends on missions" and recalled them.

Lee Jong-hyuk appeared as one of Yoo Si-jin's fellow soldiers.
