Lee Bo-young had a sad reason for quitting high school.
Seo-yeong thought about her high school days when she ran into a friend. Seo-yeong was an elite student who never gave up first place at school but her family's financial situation didn't allow her admission fees to be paid on time.
She was angry at the way the teacher hit her twin brother Sang-woo for the reason that he didn't pay his school fees. She said, "Stop it. Not being able to pay for admission is not something to be hit about. We can't help it". When the teacher said that the school wasn't for free and to quit if money couldn't be paid, she yelled at him that she will.
Sang-woo tried to convince her that there were six months left before they graduated but Seo-yeong declared that she was going to quit and make money for his admission fee. The final decision was made when Seo-yeong's classmate who was always in second place made a plan to leak out the fact that Seo-yeong's mother was a house-keeper.
Seo-yeong's mother was astounded when she heard that Seo-yeong had quit school but Seo-yeong said, "I will have made enough money to send Sang-woo overseas by next year. After that I'll sit for high school equivalency".
When her mother asked if she had quit school for Sang-woo Seo-yeong showed deep resent for her father and said, "No, I did it because of dad. He is the one with debt but he's hidden and gone".
