Super Junior Hope to Go Beyond Asia with New Album

K-pop group Super Junior, one of the world's largest boy bands, have released their fifth regular album. In a press event on Thursday, the group, who at one point featured enough members to field a soccer field, talked about their insatiable appetite for conquering the world after enjoying sweeping popularity in China, Taiwan and other Asian nations.

"We are still hungry. We now want to have concerts in Europe, including France, Italy and Spain, and maybe one day even in Pyongyang", the group said.

The album's title track, "Mr. Simple", is a funky number with lyrics that talk of healing the hearts of people who feel isolated and alone.

Demand is already revving up across Asia for live performances from the band, who plan to release the 13-track album in stages across 11 countries in the region.

"Bonamana", the title song of their fourth album released last year, shot straight to the top of the Korean Pop Music Top 100 on Taiwan's biggest online music site KKBOX and stayed there for 61 weeks.

The band attributed its popularity to their collaboration with foreign songwriters, who participated in the recording to produce what they described as global music.

"We are very pleased to see our fans in various countries rally together to demand we go to them and stage concerts", said lead singer Leeteuk.
