The 9th Seoul Human Rights Film Festival is held in May

The 9th Seoul Human Rights Film Festival collects publicly domestic program display films by March. 4.

With a view to the realization of the freedom of expression, the practice of human rights education, and the excavation of alternative screening for the mankind, this human rights film festival had been held since late 1996 every year.

The 9th Seoul Human Rights Film Festival is held from May 20 through May 26 at the Seoul Art Cinema Art Cube with a theme, entited 'Human rights of children & juvenile'.

There are no limits for the length of a display work, or the form of a genre as well as a medium.
It is possible to exhibit without any limits such as experimental movie, documentary, animation/ 16mm, 35mm, BETA, and DV among films that were produced to date since June 1, 2004 by
adapting their theme from human rights.


The festival is created by SARANGBANG(Group for Human Rights). SARANGBANG is one of the most active non-government organizations in Korea.

Many of the works by the Group include publication of Human Rights Daily, management of human rights library, coordination of education programs, and other activities for promoting human rights awareness in Korea with world wide networks.
