"The Great Battle" Most Successful 2018 Korean Movie After "Along With the Gods: The Last 49 Days"

As if in celebration of Hangeul Day, "The Great Battle" came in second of the Box Office.

The movie was released during the Chuseok break and by the 9th of October, it ranked second of the 2018 Korean Box Office.

"The Great Battle" broke through 5 million viewers on the 6th and came in second in the box office. "The Great Battle" jumped over the total of 5,201,385 by "Believer" and "Believer: Extended Cut" together and is the second best movie after "Along With the Gods: The Last 49 Days" this year.

Starring Jo In-sung and Nam Joo-hyuk, the "The Great Battle" team has been working hard at promoting the film and people who've already watched it, added to the promotion by word of mouth. The film is expected to reach break-even point very soon.

"The Great Battle" is unlike typical Korean historical films that mostly deal with the Japanese Invasion and based in the Joseon times and it is based on the Goguryeo history. The movie is overwhelming in scale and the performance of the cast has allowed it to beat foreign films and honors the pride of Korean cinema.
