The Korean Culture Ministry Announces Measures to Advance Entertainment Industry

Korea's culture ministry has announced measures to promote the nation's entertainment industry.
Together with the Korea Entertainment Producers' Association and the Korea Entertainment Management Association, the ministry plans to begin a complete data survey on the industry, starting this month.
This is an attempt to build the most up-to-date and reliable database on the industry.
Currently, some five-hundred entertainment agencies are registered, but more are believed to be involved.
While the Korean entertainment sector has boomed, riding on the recent global popularity of Korean pop culture, some entertainment groups have allegedly been involved in fraud or sexual harassment of would-be pop stars.
The government also plans to prepare a bill. by the end of the year to support and protect the industry, aimed at promoting sustainable growth.
