With bright lights and carols coming from all corners, Christmas is finally here! The Christmas mood is definitely in the air. What comes to mind when someone mentions Christmas[Interview : ] "Santa Claus".

Exhibitions are also joining in the Christmas spirit! The first one is "Loud and Soft Christmas", featuring lights of just about every color and variety!

[Interview : Hwang Ji-yeong, Curator] "This is a museum for lights, and Christmas is a season that gives off joy and excitement. We have prepared a special exhibition where visitors can enjoy the lights and the story of Christmas. Shall we take a look

[Interview : Hwang Ji-yeong, Curator] "Santa Claus's wife is a cook and makes wonderful dishes for Santa Claus, who goes into chimneys and leaves gifts. However, Santa Claus can't go down chimneys anymore because he has had too much food and he gets stuck. So, he goes on a diet. Stories like this can be found here".

There's also the Nutcracker Prince who battles the Mouse King, as well as the Little Match Girl. The exhibition is filled with Christmas stories.

One popular part of the exhibition is the gingerbread story.

[Interview : Hwang Ji-yeong, Curator] "Many children catch a cold during the winter, so mothers try to feed them ginger, but children won't eat it because it doesn't taste good. So mothers instead make gingerbread and hang it on trees, so that children will find them and eat them on their own".

What is the most important factor when it comes to Christmas lights[Interview : Hwang Ji-yeong, Curator] "When people think of Christmas lights, most think of bright and dazzling lights. However, this exhibition uses a variety of lights, such as LED, fluorescent, or even black lights".

Everyone, including a group of artists, is enjoying the Christmas spirit. What does Christmas mean to the artists[Interview : PD] "Joy, Happy, Merry Christmas".

[Interview : Lee Gyeong-su, Artist] "I am reminded of the Christmas tree and presents. Hence, I think of happiness or pretty-looking things".

The artists are filled with unique ideas. Let's take a look at their creations inspired by Christmas.

[Interview : Jeong Gwang-o, Curator] "The Seoul Arts Center's lobby and the Bukchon Art Museum are featuring artists who have a unique sense of moulding and want to share their Christmas spirit with the public".

One feature about this exhibition is that there is no set genre. Everything from paintings, designs and crafts to photographs and installation art can be seen. Each piece represents a unique idea.

Even the materials used show each artist's different thoughts, and different shapes and textures make each thought stand out.

[Interview : Min Gyeong-suk, Artist] "I think that the feeling and warmth of wool are just right for expressing the significance of Christmas, so my works try to keep those properties. I think that Christmas is a time for blessing, happiness and gratitude".
