Top Actresses to Appear on Big Screen

2006/03/24 Source

Korea's top three actresses, Ko So-young, Go Hyun-jung and Choi Jin-sil, will all appear on the big screen.

Ko So-young has decided to act in the horror movie "Apartment" directed by Ahn Byeong-ki. It will be her first film appearance in four years since her role in "Double Agent". She will play a cold-hearted single woman living in the city who has problems getting along with the people around her. Having enjoyed her highest popularity in the late 1990s, Ko has seldom appeared on TV since that time except on some commercials.

Go Hyun-jung will make her film debut in a picture by Hong Sang-soo with the working title "A Woman on the Beach", with actor Kim Seung-woo playing opposite her. Her choice is considered adventurous since Hong's works are usually far from "popular", displaying a unique style. Ko said that she had difficulties choosing a picture in which to debut because people had such high expectations of her.

Choi Jin-sil, who made a successful comeback to the TV screen with the hit drama "My Rosy Life" after the breakdown of her marriage, also plans to act in a film. She expressed her hope of playing a realistic character that people can easily identify with.

The appearance of these three actresses on the big screen is expected to provide moviegoers with top class entertainment.
