The Pale Horse by Hye-Yeon Chu is an epic supernatural tale of mystery, romance and death. And the more you read, the more you realize there is much more to the story than meets the eye.

It all begins in a small French village in the 1800's, where an eleven-year-old girl named Rose lives. She is beautiful and kind but is shunned by the rest of the village because they believe her mother is a witch. Her only friend is her next door neighbor, Pierre, a cheerful young boy who defends her from the town's bullies. Their friendship slowly blooms into a sweet young romance.

But their happiness is short lived due to the arrival of a mysterious figure named Guinness. He comes to the village with the intention of reclaiming things that he had left behind there years ago and in the process, he reveals secrets that shake Rose and Pierre's entire world.

There is a large and intricate mystery at the center of this story and the intensity in which it all unfolds will keep you at the edge of your seat. There are so many unpredictable surprises and you never know what is coming next. The fates of Rose, Pierre, Guinness and their families will shock you.

Another reason that this webtoon has so many devoted fans is because of the amazing artwork that accompanies each episode. It's rich with detail and creates an almost fairytale-like world.
