[Webtoon Review] Twelfth Night: Forbidden romances and a quest for revenge

Twelfth Night by Muryu is an intoxicating tale of revenge and romance that takes place in the Joseon dynasty.

In the Kingdom of Gagook, the king has recently died and his concubine, YoonRil Yoon decides to lead an uprising and has the queen killed. She also tries to kill the young crown prince, Hwi Lee  but he is able to escape the palace with the help of his bodyguard Juk Lee and a courtesan named Younghwa.

Years pass and the kingdom is now being led by YoonRi's son, Won Lee.

Completely apathetic to the responsibilities of the throne, the kingdom is slowly fracturing under his rule. YoonRi and the officials working for her are all worried about a vigilante roaming the kingdom named the Crimson Moon who could potentially inspire a revolution. They believe that Crimson Moon may be the missing crown prince and they're willing to do whatever they can to get rid of him for good.

Their suspicions are correct as the two boys that escaped the palace as children, Hwi Lee and Juk Lee, are now all grown up and ready to fight for the throne. During the day they disguise themselves, Juk Lee as a musician and Hwi Lee as female courtesan named Nabi. But at night they set in motion plans to bring down the current government.

But things get complicated as Hwi Lee finds himself drawn into a complicated love triangle between Won Lee and the royal minister's daughter, Danah. Won Lee truly falls in love with Hwil Lee as Nabi and as the story delves into his developing feelings, it becomes clear that he is not a bad person, simply a victim of his mother's unending greed.

As the story continues to unfold, the emotions are high and the lives of all the characters we have grown attached to are at stake. This webtoon is also filled with amazing artwork that works to intensify the action throughout.
