Week's New Premieres

It's hard to believe how quickly the weekend catches up with us, but here it is.
So what's playing at the movies?
The biggest or perhaps the most meaningful attraction this week is the release of Im Kwontaek's 100th film.
Son Heekyung has more on that and other new releases.

Veteran Im Kwon-taek's 100th movie is a follow-up to his 1993 film "Sopyeonje" a story about the traditional Korean lyrical opera.
"Beyond the Years" tells a love story between a brother and his stepsister through music.
Actress Oh Jung-hae is back playing the female lead and actor Cho Jae-hyun stars alongside Oh.

"One hundred is nothing but a number to me. I just want to be remembered as a filmmaker who helped bring the sound of traditional music back to life".

"Paradise Murdered" is a Korean comedy mystery.
The story is set in the late 1980s, and is about the sudden vanishing of 17 villagers on an remote island.
Popular actor Park Hae-il plays a man who is suspected of being a serial murderer.
The director says the movie is perfect for audiences who like to solve puzzles.

The comic book superhero "Ghost Rider" has come to the screen starring Nicolas Cage.
Cage plays Johnny Blaze, a superstar motorcycle stunt rider who sells his soul to the devil to protect his dying father and his childhood sweetheart.
By day, he's a stunt rider but at night he tracks down demons as Ghost Rider.

Last up this week is the Japanese dramatic comedy "Memories of Matsuko".
A middle school teacher loses her job and is abused by men.
The film is entertaining, emotional and contains realistic human drama and comedy.
