Will Red Ginseng give you Beautiful Skin?

2012/06/09 | 846 views | Permalink | Source

It's not really a secret that I spend considerable time and money on my skin. It's true for many women in Korea. As I'm rather adventurous, I like to try out new cosmetics from time to time and one of my favorite stores to go and find something new is MISSHA, which I wrote about in more detail in this blog post.

On my most recent visit I found something I hadn't seen before – a Red Ginseng Sheet Mask.

Having never thought of putting ginseng in a facial mask before, this one grabbed my attention and I decided to give it a try. The package said that the mask would give my face all the benefits red ginseng can offer.

In Korea this is a great selling point because we put red ginseng in EVERYTHING: Gum, candy, cookies, tea and even the water at the spa. Having grown up in Korea I had a firm belief in red ginseng and was eager to see what this mask could do. After all, Business Standard reports that ginseng can even reduce the fatigue associated with cancer and helps reduce the syptoms of type 2 diabetes. So, this mask must be good, right?

Opening the package, the smell was not as strong as I expected. I also liked that the mask was big enough to fully cover my entire face. The mask had so much liquid that I was able to use some on my neck as well. Considering that the mask cost less than 4,000 won (about $4.00), I thought it was a good value.

After 15 minutes, I took the mask off and followed the instruction on the back of the package, which told me to pat my face to absorb the leftover liquid.

After one treatment there was, of course, not a dramatic change. However, my face was much softer the next day and this mask didn't cause me any skin trouble – which I was thankful for.

If you love red ginseng, it might be a good idea to give this mask a try! The package also has instructions in English, broadening its appeal.
