Yoo Jae-suk Gives W50 Million to Sex Slavery Victims

Comedian Yoo Jae-suk on Thursday donated W50 million to a shelter for victims of World War II sex slavery, the House of Sharing (US$1=W1,155).

Yoo Jae-suk on wants W30 million to be used for the construction of a human rights center for the victims of the Japanese atrocity and W20 million for their welfare, a spokesman for the charity said.

Last year Yoo gave W40 million to the shelter and in 2014 W20 million.

Yoo has been the biggest single donor to the House of Sharing, the spokesman said.

"Despite his reluctance to publicize his donations, we've decided to announce them in gratitude for everything he did for the victims despite his busy schedule", he added.
