Yoon Jong-shin to Write Song About Dokdo

Singer-songwriter Yoon Jong-shin is to write a song about Dokdo. Yoon and Prof. Seo Kyong-deok, an activist publicizing Korea's sovereignty to the islets, made the announcement on Twitter on Tuesday.

Yoon was approached by Seo, who will soon start regular classes about the islets at the Independence Hall of Korea in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province, and Yoon is to promote them.

Seo tweeted, "Yoon gladly agreed to donate his talent, saying it's an honor as a songwriter to write a song about Dokdo".

Yoon will start work on the song in April, with a plan to make a music video featuring the islets, to which Japan maintains a dubious colonial claim.
