YouTube Penguin Named Person of the Year by Job Website

Pengsoo, a penguin character on a YouTube channel, has been picked as one of the "people of the year" by job portal Incruit alongside Samsung chief Lee Jae-yong, and footballer Son Heung-min.

Pengsoo, the star of the EBS channel, topped the list of the year's most prominent entertainers with 20.9 percent in a public poll, ahead of singer Song Ga-in (17.6 percent), boy band BTS, also known as BTS (16.7 percent), broadcaster Jang Sung-kyu (9.1 percent), and actress Kong Hyo-jin (5.8 percent).  

In the business sector, Samsung chief Lee Jae-yong ranked first with 39.7 percent, followed by LG chairman Koo Kwang-mo (10 percent), Hyundai Motor chairman Chung Mong-koo (7.6 percent), and Lee Jae-woong, the president of Socar (6.6 percent).

In sports footballer Son Heung-min topped the list with a whopping 46.3 percent, followed by Park Hang-seo, the Korean head coach of the Vietnamese national football team (16.3 percent), and baseball player Ryu Hyun-jin (10.2 percent).

Chef and restaurateur Baek Jong-won (29.7 percent) and film director Bong Joon-ho (21.1 percent) were chosen in the social and cultural sector.
