Fans rushed to grab tickets for the upcoming musical production of "Goong", featuring singer and actor Yunho Yunho, according to Korean production company Group 8 on Friday.

Group 8 announced in a press release that tickets for the show starring Yunho Yunho sold out in less than two minutes after they went on sale on reservation site Interpark at 9 p.m. last night. Tickets for shows starring other male leads Kim Dong-ho-I and RUN recorded high sales as well.

"Inquiries are pouring in from people in Korea, Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong who weren't able to purchase the tickets", explained an official from Group 8. "We expect the musical 'Goong' will stir the public's interest in musicals and introduce the power of Korean musicals overseas".

"Goong" is a story about an average high-school girl marrying a royal prince in 21st century Korea, which is in fiction a monarchical country.

Originally based on a best-selling comic series of the same name, "Princess Hours" was adapted for the small screen in 2006 which turned its two leads, Yoon Eun-hye and Ju Ji-hoon, into household names.

Female lead role of Chae-kyeong will be rotated by actresses Gwak Sun-young and Shin Eui-jung.

Second round of ticket sales will open at 9 p.m. next Tuesday through Interpark (www.interpark.co.kr).

Musical "Goong" will premiere on September 8 at the National Museum of Korea.
