[Talk of the town] B-boy wonders bag prizes and break-dance around the globe

All the world's a stage for Korean B-boys.
Korean-American director John Kwon's "Always Be Boyz" won the Narrative Feature Jury Prize at the San Francisco International Asian-American Film Festival in mid-March.
Meanwhile, Korean American Benson Lee's "Planet B-boy" picked up the Best Documentary Feature Award and Comcast Audience Award at the festival.
Always Be Boyz stars Maximum Crew, a Korean B-boy group, and depicts an autobiographical story about break-dancers.
Planet B-boy also tracks the lives of world break-dancers based on the 2005 Battle of the Year, an annual International B-boy crew contest in Germany.
The release dates for the two films haven't been set yet.
Meanwhile, members of Last For One, the Korean B-boy crew in Planet B-boy, are scheduled to appear soon on NBC TV's "Carson Daly Show" and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show".

Director Jieho Lee Returns With Movie

Korean-American director Jieho Lee was better known in Korea for marrying star actress Kim Min, but recently made headlines near and far by making his feature film debut with five of Hollywood's top stars. Before "The Air I Breathe" opens across theaters here April 9, the 35-year-old met with the press Tuesday at a hotel in northern Seoul.

Lee expressed thanks for a warm reception, speaking in a mixture of Korean and English. "Working in Hollywood was a blessing and I had a lot of luck. There's no set path", he said.
"It took me a very long time. (Hollywood is) a very closed society and it's hard to break into that. The first thing that was important was that I wrote a script people responded to", he said.

Song Ji-hyo will star in the upcoming program, 'Freedom Travel', which will be produced by the Australian Tourism Board and the cable TV channel, MTV. This program which will feature the theme of cosmopolitan lifestyle will show Song Ji-hyo as a cute and bubbly fashionista.
She will visit the popular Australian attraction site, Bondai beach, for 6 days and 5 nights, look around the famous fashion shops and show the healthy and beautiful lifestyle of the Australian people just as it is.

As the last star of the 'Freedom Travel' series, Song Ji-hyo gained much attention. Following after the first series with Kim Min Joon and the second series with Oh Ji-ho, Song Ji-hyo will be in this third series. Rich husbands wanted, with nice homes abroad

There are things to concede when you are watching evening TV melodramas about dazzling people. When heroines run into strangers, it's fate. When they spill coffee over someone's shirt, that's fate too. A man can even run over a girl's fiance, like in the SBS show "Crazy for Love", and the girl will still fall in love with him, calling it destiny.
But these female celebrities can become irritating when they say they met their perfect other halves through a number of coincidences in real life as well.
Just last year, more than 20 female celebrities "happened" to marry rich, handsome businessmen. According to reports and interviews, actresses say they fell in love because "the man was very down to earth" and they had no idea he was so rich.
There is one additional factor to the celebrity marriage trend, however. The men the hot actresses choose these days are gyopos, a term for Koreans who have lived most of their life outside of Korea.

Korea Becomes Big Player in Pan-Asian Co-Productions

The pan-Asian martial arts blockbuster "Seven Swords" by Hong Kong director Tsui Hark features about 30 percent Korean dialogue. The film was released Thursday.

Regionally co-produced martial arts epics are all the rage this year. There are already three blockbusters starring Korean and Chinese actors to be released in Korea this year, with the most eagerly anticipated "Promise" accompanied by "Seven Swords", and "The Myth". In the case of "Seven Swords", Lee Joo-ick, the CEO of Korea's Boram Entertainment with its Hong Kong partner provided one-third or W5 billion of the funding, and was involved in the filmmaking process from the very beginning. Hong Kong stars Leon Lai and Charlie Yeung took the leads alongside Korean actress Kim So-yeon.
